Academic Updates

The first few weeks of the school year have flown by! It has been awesome to see students back in the building, and involved in activities.

Believe it or not, the first grading period of the school year is approaching fast! First quarter midterm grades are going to be posted on Tuesday, September 26th. Students and parents should check their JMC for the most up to date information regarding their progress. As a helpful resource, please check out our JMC Key to help better understand teacher grades on JMC.

ABSENCES AND APPOINTMENTS

Hawk Best

Our K-5 students experienced a fun surprise at recess earlier this week!  Students have been working hard to earn blue tickets for showing their Hawk BEST and we reached our first school-wide goal.

Mrs. Gunsaulus and Mrs. Bowlin handed out frozen popsicles during recess to all students when they arrived outside.  The students did a wonderful job of respectfully waiting for their treat, saying "thank you," and taking care of their trash when they were finished.  We have set a new goal and are looking forward to another celebration soon!

 Middle school guest speaker

Middle school students excitedly welcomed Joe McQuerry back into Mr. Bowlin's social studies classroom a few days ago.  Mr. McQuerry worked with our students last year to support them in making safe and healthy choices.  The students will continue to learn about the harmful effects of drugs, alcohol, and tobacco on their bodies.

In addition, Joe focuses on equipping students with social-emotional skills including how to effectively communicate with others and interact respectfully.  We are thankful for our time with Joe and value his important messages this school year.
