Regular attendance is essential for a student's success. We also understand that occasionally a student will need to miss school for medical appointments. If your child is gone for a medical appointment (including physical, dental, orthodontist, and mental health), please notify the school of the appointment and provide a note from your medical provider.

The Lynnville-Sully School Board has made it a priority for our students to use their time and talents to give back to the local community. As such, the high school volleyball program (led by Coach Heather James) recently accepted that challenge by volunteering to help our custodial staff with some cleaning tasks around the school, and by helping to sort clothes at Pay It Forward Clothing Closet in Lynnville. Way to go ladies!
Each new school year bring opportunities for academic growth and growth in all areas of development. Although children must be knowledgable when they graduate, they must also be healthy, engaged, responsible, and caring people. Leader in Me provides our school with the vision and language to help students discover and develop their unique gifts and talents through leadership opportunities. As leaders, our hope if for them to become active, engaged partners in their own education, and for their self-confidence, responsibility, and initiative to grow.
All K-5 classrooms are taking part in daily lessons to learn and understand the 7 Habits of Happy Kids. Students and teachers have also written classroom mission statements defining how they plan to create an environment where everyone works together to learn, grow, and motivate one another to be their best. Be on the lookout for more information about Leader in Me throughout the year in our district newsletter.
On September 18th Mrs. Winegar and Ms. Karr's 4th graders hosted residents from St. Francis and Hammond Center nursing home. The residents spent the afternoon in our new outdoor learning space listening to the students read. Everyone enjoyed the beautiful weather and the new furniture that was purchased by the LSCEF from the Walkathon donations. Ms. Karr and Mrs. Winegar are hoping to continue this partnership with area nursing homes and plan to add other fun activities for the students and residents to do together throughout the school year.
Mark your calendars for these exciting events!
